No Child Left Behind

The Florida capitol

It is the goal of the Florida Legislature that every student read at or above grade level in reading, writing, math and the sciences. The practice of socially promoting struggling students or allowing them to move on to the next grade without demonstrating the skills needed to become successful is no longer an option.

Florida State Senate chamber

Too often students do not get the tutoring they need until they have fallen far behind and are at risk of having to repeat a grade.

Florida statutes read: “(1) INTENT — It is the intent of the Legislature that each student’s progression from one grade to another be determined, in part, upon proficiency in reading, writing, science, mathematics; that district school board policies facilitate such proficiency; and that each student and his or her parent be informed of that student’s progress…

(7) … strategies prescribed by the school district, which may include, but are not limited to: … Tutoring“.

Tutoring is available to students whenever they need it. Don’t wait until FCAT scores or some other problem force the choice. By that time the children are demoralized. Let I Can Do It! help your child stay at or above grade level.
